Kipp Bodnar Talks about Social Media Breakfast Raleigh

Even though Kipp spends so much time in front of the camera himself, I thought I would take this opportunity to ask him a few questions about Social Media Breakfast in Raleigh, NC. Originally started in Boston by Bryan Person, Social Media Breakfast has now expanded into others cities with local organizers in each city. Social Media Breakfast gives local communities an opportunity to come together once a month and discuss various topics related to social media. Go to the Social Media Breakfast Raleigh website for more information about upcoming events and planned speakers. And join us next month.

Social Media Breakfast Raleigh

Tuesday was Social Media Breakfast Raleigh. We gathered at Panera Bread for an informal gathering to talk about a variety of social media topics. We began the meeting with my discussion about using Twitter to promote an event with Raleigh Twestival as an example. Here’s my blog post my remarks were based on and here’s a video clip from Kipp Bodnar showing a bit of it. We also talked about using Twitter for work and for personal use, and how old media doesn’t get Twitter and just pushes their feed out via Twitter. This is not community engagement.

It was great to see some friends and meet some more. Always good to put faces with avatars.
