Free and Natural Running from Nike
The latest Nike ad probably won’t air on a tv near you. Nike has launched their new Free family of running shoes, which are as light and nonrestrictive as running barefoot, with a short video introducing the Bear Butte Running Camp. The Business of LeBron James
Here’s an article from Fortune Magazine about the development of the business side of LeBron James. He has changed the rules of superstar athlete endorsement deals. He owns the company with childhood friends and conducts market research to test the pulse of his brand. According to the article, following last season’s playoff performance, especially Game 5 against the Pistons, Nike restructured their basketball division to increase the number of Nike staffers working on LeBron’s brand from 4 to 150.
Film Directors and Commercials
In the film world, Michael Mann is well known as a producer and director, with credits that include the new action movie “The Kingdom” as well as “Ali,” “The Aviator,” “The Insider” and “The Last of the Mohicans.”
In the advertising world, Mr. Mann is a director, most recently of two Nike spots that started in August. He has also done work for Mercedes and Rolex, projects that suggest how important the small screen is becoming to filmmakers.
